Vivity IOL (Alcon) is an extended depth of focus (EDOF) lens designed with a donut-shaped elevation in the center of the optic to improve intermediate vision.

Vivity USAF resolution target image at each distance (pupil 3.8 mm)

With Vivity IOL (Alcon), USAF resolution target was clear as with monofocal IOL at 6 meters.This is typical of recently released refractive multifocal IOLs. The target gradually becomes blurred as the resolution target get closer, becoming clear again around 80 centimeters before becoming blurred again.

Vivity, Night street (pupil 4.8 mm), halo

Vivity IOL (Alcon) has minimal halo around bright lights at night. It is similar to that of monofocal IOLs. This is a typical phenomenon seen in recently released refractive multifocal intraocular lenses.

Vivity IOL (Alcon) provides clear image at far distance much like monofocal IOLs. This is typical of recently released refractive multifocal IOLs. However, a closer look reveals a slight drop in clarity compared to monfocal IOLs.
