In the early phase of the study, we used a pupil size of 3.8 mm for daytime or chart photography,
and for photographing buildings at night or night roads,
we used 4.8 mm, taking into account that the human pupil dilates at night.
However, since it was pointed out that 3.8 mm is larger than a normal pupil,
we have recently been shooting with a pupil of 3.0 mm during the day and 3.8 mm at night.
In general, a smaller pupil yields better image quality and less glare.
As time permits, so that comparisons can be made under the same conditions,
we plan to conduct additional experiments at 3.0 mm and 3.8 mm during the day, and 3.8 mm and 4.8 mm at night.
