With Alcon's Vivity lens, distant buildings appear clear, almost the same as with a monofocal IOL. This is a phenomenon typically seen with recently released refractive multifocal IOLs. However, on very close inspection the sharpness is very slightly lower than with a monofocal IOL.

With Alcon's Vivity, the optotype at 6 meters appears as clear as with a monofocal intraocular lens.
This is a phenomenon typically seen with the refractive multifocal intraocular lenses that have been released recently.
As the optotype gets closer it gradually blurs, then becomes clear again at around 80 cm before blurring once more.
