Multifocal IOL Experience Clinic

Cataract surgery, which IOL should you choose?

During cataract surgery, the clouded natural lens is removed and an intraocular lens (IOL) is placed in the eye. There are two main types of IOLs.

✔ Monofocal IOL: Focuses at a single distance
✔ Multifocal IOL: Focuses at multiple distances, so you can see both far and near clearly

With a multifocal IOL, you can read books or use your phone without reading glasses, which is convenient.
However, depending on the lens type, some people may find distant objects slightly blurry, experience glare or halos at night, or feel that near vision is not as sharp as expected.

Try it before your surgery!

Try it before your surgery!

At our clinic, you can experience various types of multifocal IOLs firsthand before surgery. You can check and choose the lens that fits you best in advance.

✔Hands-on Wearing Experience : You can try on actual multifocal IOLs mounted on the experience device personally developed by Prof. Ho Sik Hwang. By directly experiencing distant objects, nearby text, and glare in dark settings, you can find the lens best suited to your eyes.
